Admittedly, I was burning my candle pretty hard at the sports complex... Particularly, I was tiring of the politics. Of course to a certain degree, politics are present in any business; that said - I’ve rarely had much issue with “office politics” in the past as my track record of consistently turning a profit has historically pushed me somewhat ahead (or at least out of harms way...) of the “usual” inter-office politics. Nevertheless, I found her exuberance to be entertaining and absolutely genuine... lol! (I had no idea you could simply replace your boss??... HA!)

Before working for me and prior to the pandemic, this server (we’ll call her “M”...) used to work at one of the larger comedy clubs in this city. Apparently, she heard through the grapevine that the owners were on their way to shop for a new General Manager to direct the re-opening of their club. (Seriously now - who could say no to that?!?!) Not I!!! I had M do a little recon to find the owner’s email to which I sent a note right away!

Now... To everyone who has struggled in finding the right words when applying for a job or sending a follow-up email, know that the more genuine and personable you are - the better off you’ll be. That doesn’t mean you lose the formality or speak with a false sense of familiarity, but you don’t want to come off like a robot either. You’re a person - He/She is also probably a person. Start there! I can’t remember the exact words I used, but I can tell you that there was nothing complicated in my email, nor was it a novel-length plea for an interview. I simply shared the cliff-note version quip of how M told me about the opportunity and despite that in likelihood I was late to this conversation, I was highly qualified for the position and genuinely excited to learn more about their comedy club. That was literally it and to my absolute delight, the owner responded almost immediately! We spoke twice over the phone over the next three days and just three weeks later I found myself with a key to the building, access to the former GM’s computer. If that all sounds like it came easy, think again... lol! I may have had a key and a computer, but I also had no employees or line managers, no inventory, no menu and that former manager’s trusty computer crashed on day 2. I did have a full schedule of shows already on the books and a Grand Opening date just 4 weeks away!

Believe me, I could definitely go on... I’ve learned so much over the last two years, I’m bursting to share these experiences will all of you! I’ll save you the torment and say, “This comedy club, my sexy friends... is where I’ve been>

We go on the defensive... focusing on saving coins 🪙 rather than making money... 💰💰💰But this is a losing strategy! ☠️ I'd like to offer another path... 💁🏻‍♂️😎

The national average profit margin for a typical bar or restaurant in the US is 9-11%. 😅 That's considered a successful return in the industry. With OnlyFans, your margin is 80%!!! 🤯 That's incredible by comparison! 🤑 If we're going to make good on the pledge to run our OnlyFans pages like a "business", we need to accept that sometimes we need partners🤝 in order to be successful. Think of OnlyFans as your new Business Partner.🤜🤛 They offer you the network, platform, resources and nearly unlimited creative license in exchange for 20% of your earnings.
