These are the basic supplies needed for splinting a forearm fracture. You need some form of cast padding - the two most common ones are Webril and velcrose (shown here). You will need either plaster or prefabricated Ortho glass (shown here). Finally, you will need something to wrap the arm with after the splint is in place to compress against the forearm and allow it to harden in the proper shape, typically an ACE bandage compression wrap is used at most hospitals.

A 3-point mold is demonstrated in the final picture.. this creates a fulcrum proximal to the fracture site and bends the splint to keep the reduction from falling away. It is essential for maintaining proper position of bone fragments while the fracture heals.
